The publication is the first monographic study of the work of Józef Hecht—printmaker, painter, and sculptor. The book contains extensive essays by art historians on all of the disciplines practiced by the artist, from printmaking to painting to sculpture, as well as on his pedagogical activity. The articles highlight the artist’s significant place in world art, his circle of inspirations, and his influence on subsequent generations of creators. They also include an updated chronology of Hecht’s life and work, made possible through research conducted by the Art & Modern Foundation.
